BCP 08 | Interview with Kerrie Slade

In my interview with Kerrie Slade, we discuss beading in only one color, dragons, and the true meaning of whimsy. I hope you enjoy the interview!

To the right, I’ve selected two photos from Kerrie’s Midnight Garden Collection. See more on her Facebook page.

Thanks!

I want to give a big thanks to our sponsor, The Bead Shop! They have all the beads to feed your addiction, and tools for Jewellery Making, too! Check them out and support a business that supports the show.

I would have to choose Bronze. This colour will go with anything you wear. Stunning :)

Thanks for sharing the interview with Kerrie Slade. :) I found it to be very interesting & enlightening. I also love the little hedgehogs!

I happen to be saving up money to collect & start on a monochrome project now, & the seed beads are what inspired me to do so. :)
The beads are Aiko’s #49, Dichroic-coated finished. So these have been especially refinished for extra shine & glamour… Think peacock colors, in the dark blue finish. :) I may cheat & throw in some silver, but still I think the beads will let me know what to do. LOL

What a lovely interview! Thank you. I have been following Kerrie’s blog for quite a while now. It was nice to hear her voice and the though process behind her work. If I could only bead in one color it would be silver.

  • avatar Pam February 12, 2013, 12:11 pm

Matte black would be my color.

  • avatar Jan Atherton February 12, 2013, 12:32 pm

It would have to be blues for me, you have everything from a pale ice blue, to an inky night sky, to ocean blues, and rich cobalt brights.

  • avatar Regalbeads February 12, 2013, 12:47 pm

Probably a shade of green. I love bright orange as well, but a nice peaceful green would probably win out.

  • avatar Caron February 12, 2013, 12:47 pm

I love looming in monochrome, you can create some wonderful textures using the monochromatic tonings – silver is one of my favourites, beautiful, sparkly and lots of bling!

  • avatar Cath February 12, 2013, 12:59 pm

I’d choose gray, in the hopes it would be allowable to use various tints and shades. But when the question says “only bead in one color, I’m hoping it would be a temporary situation. Because being forced to bead in one color FOREVER is too much to imagine! :-(

  • avatar Denise S February 14, 2013, 12:25 pm

  • avatar Kimberly Kretschman March 3, 2013, 2:12 pm

It would have to be blues for me. There are so many wonderful shades of blue beads. I always have a hard time picking a shade so I usually end up buying all shades of blue in the beads I love.

  • avatar Bonnie Lee September 23, 2013, 12:28 am

I Would chose crystal(shinny) black, as it would go with every color I wear.
